So... I suck at writing journals!

The big news is... ok well, I got engaged and I'm getting married in April (yay!!), I graduated, I got a cat (Kenpachi) and I'm moving in with my fiance soon. I suppose that is all big news!

But what I meant to say was art news. I finally got a new digital camera (and I love it!) so I've started making semiprecious gemstone bead jewelry again and I finally put some up on Etsy! I've been at this for a few years, selling it at the odd convention or craft show, but I hope the interwebs will prove to be useful to me.

If anyone has tips about calculating shipping costs on Etsy please let me know. That's the one part that confuses me- how can I set a standard price, am I supposed to look up how much it will cost me for every country in the world?! They need some kind of shipping calculator.

Well, thank you so much! That is the highest compliment!

I just started putting things on Etsy a few weeks ago and so far, the only purchases have been from people I know, but I'm hoping some of my advertising endeavors will pay off soon... I have a paid feature on the jewelry page on August 10th so hopefully that will get me some traffic! But I love Etsy's system and it's let me put together a pretty nice shop, I think, so I hope I'll start making some more sales soon!

not much at all. It costs 20 cents to list each item and they take a 3.5% commission off of sales.

Hmm. I've been looking into starting an Etsy account. Do you need pay pal or something?
Also, would you mind if I made a necklace similar to your aqua purple necklace, but made it inverted? IE: Amethyst stones separated by turquoise chunks. I'd "credit" you.
